Collecting brachiopods from the Devonian Period from the Middle Atlas Mountains and Anti-Atlas/Sahara Desert of Morocco. Huge Goniatites, seep brachiopods, beautifully preserved stromatoproids, and Rugose corals!

Collecting brachiopods from the Middle-Late Mississippian to the Late Pennsylvanian from Arrow Canyon. We also got stuck in a cave on the Northern flank of Roberts Mountain during a lightning storm (May 2023).

Stratigraphy and prospecting for paleosols in the Andean foothills (Cacheuta Basin) to constrain the timing of the spread of C4 grasses and paleoclimate in Southern South America (August 2022). 

Hunting for brachiopods and siliceous sponge spicules in the remote cliff-forming Devonian limestones of the Basin and Range province of Eureka and White Pine County Nevada (May 2022)

Student assistant for a Geological Society of America Annual Meeting field trip to piece back the complex structural history of the Klamath terrane in Northern California and Southern Oregon (October 2021)

Prospecting for Cretaceous dinosaur fossils, and paleosols in the picturesque landscape of Escalante and Green River Utah to reconstruct the terrestrial paleoenvironment and paleoclimate of the Western Interior Seaway. Additionally sampling of modern cold spring carbonates for a study aiming to understand the evolution of novel carbonate secreting bacteria in such systems. (June 2021)
